Yoginis have always known it – Yoga is good for the heart.
Science now has results from a three-month structured yoga training program “The YOGA My Heart Study” which states there was a significant decrease in heart rate, and systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and after yoga. The study also commented on the improvements in quality of life, mood and depression. The author notes this was a small study of forty-nine patients and “larger randomized controlled studies will be necessary to further establish the gravity of these findings”.
When I worked in the corporate legal industry I discovered that yoga played a pivotal role contributing to the success of my career and overall health. Therefore, The YOGA My Heart Study results are not a surprise to me or other Yoginis.
Teaching and sharing my Yoga experiences, knowledge and passion is good for my heart! br>
